The hand behind the atelier

Janvi
Janvi began her practice in 2014 with a simple conviction — that bridal mehndi deserved the same reverence given to fine couture. Twelve years later, she leads a small Ahmedabad atelier that has dressed the hands of brides from Udaipur to Lake Como.
Trained in the Rajasthani narrative tradition and self-taught in the Arabic school, her work is known for restraint, balance, and an obsession with stain depth. Every commission begins with a sketchbook on her lap and ends with a sealed aftercare kit she has assembled by hand.
Janvi Studio began with a simple idea — that bridal mehndi deserved the same reverence given to couture embroidery or fine jewelry. For too long it had been treated as a service to be rushed through on the morning of a function. We believed it could be a six-week design relationship, ending in a piece of wearable narrative our brides would carry into their wedding photographs and beyond.
Twelve years later we work with around forty bridal commissions each year — a number we have chosen not to grow. Every bride sits with our lead artist personally. Every design is sketched live. Every paste is mixed for the climate of the venue and the chemistry of the bride's skin.
In 2023 we extended the atelier into couture nail art under the same philosophy: hand-finished work, vetted materials, and a small team trained internally over years. Today we travel with our brides to Udaipur, Como, Marrakech, Dubai and beyond, packing a folding teak table, a tea service, and an unwavering standard of craft.
What we hold to
One bride, one atelier
We accept a limited number of bridal commissions each season. Your design is never produced from a template; it begins with a blank sketchbook and your story.
Materials with provenance
Our henna is sourced from a single Sojat farm we have worked with for a decade. Our nail products are vetted for safety, longevity and finish.
Photographable in fifty years
We design for the wedding album that will sit on your grandchild's coffee table. Restraint, balance and craft outlive every trend.
